Apple Inc: Marketing Nazis

Hello, again! Well, it sure has been a while since I ranted about the stages of cursing through the lives of various people. Some would say I've become overwhelmed with college work and have had no time to blog about various things. For those of you who thought that, kiss it.

Now, I always wanted to do a blog post on Apple Inc. The big time electronics manufacturer and distributor and their effects on the marketing world. Apple is known for some of the shrudest forms of advertising, especially the market scheme called the "quickdate" (a conjunction of quick and update). This form of marketing is notorious for angering consumers on its constant releases of better and better models. Do I mean faster processing, more memory, better graphics display capabilities? No, I mean the models get thinner and sleeker, with the addition of a camera or something here and there.

Really, even Steve Jobs, the man who founded Apple got sick of it and stepped down as the company's chairman. Even Microsoft doesn't rape the market that much. The Apple market is so oversaturated right now that you can't even turn your back in a department store without seeing that bitten, glowing apple from hell.

iMacs seem to be the only exclusion from the anger. Even though many operating systems come out for it, it does remain the same model. You never have to by a new model or keyboard or what not.

MacBOOKS on the other hand, suck just as much ass in the market. Every month it seems like there's a new MacBook people want! Whether it's faster, sleeker, smaller, thinner, shinier, it doesn't matter; Macbook marketing is too off the devil.

But the worst form of Apple marketing isn't the computers, or the tables! No, it's the goddamn iPhone! Every other week a new update for this phone comes out and steals our hard-earned money! It's basically like you spend hundreds on a new iPhone 4G, then all of sudden WHAM! Next month they release the iPhone 4GS, 0.25% thinner and the same damn thing. People fall for it though! If Macbooks are of the devil, then the iPhone is HELL.

Let's end on a funny note. Below is a comic strip from "The Oatmeal". It perfectly explains the Apple marketing scheme, in case I didn't explain it well enough. I'll see you in the next post!
