Top 5 Power Rangers Theme Songs

Very quickly here, I wanna write in my blog about the top five greatest Power Rangers theme songs. Now, the Power Rangers are known to many as being one of the permanent staples of the 90's. Sure you've got Power Rangers still on today, but it's all recycled bullshit nobody cares about. If you ask me, I'll tell you that the ORIGINAL and GREATEST era of Power Rangers definitely died following the release of Time Force in 2001.

From 1993 to 2001, Power Rangers reigned on children's television programming. It is from this era that I believe the five greatest Power Rangers theme songs stemmed from.

#5 - Power Rangers in Space
The sequel series to Power Rangers Turbo came about in 1998. In this incarnation, the rangers are sent into space and board a spaceship through accidental discovery. Here, the former Turbo rangers are made into Space rangers. However, the theme song is what stems out most in my mind from this season. Yet another fantastic addition from The Mighty RAW, also known as Ron Wasserman, who composed a lot of the music for Power Rangers. Just the song that starts with the countdown, then just kicks into a heavy metal riff with a cool harmonic vocal chorus. Instantly stuck in your head.

#4 - Power Rangers Time Force

The last great season of the series if you ask me. This was 2001 just as close as ever to when I stopped watching regularly. It features rangers who travel from the year 3000 to the year 2001 and must cope with being stuck in the past. However, Jasan Radford's kick-ass theme tune is what drives this powerhouse season. He did some work for the Digimon movie and now he lends his harmonic voice to Power Rangers. It's catchy, it's angelic and it's fantastic!

#3 - Power Rangers Zeo

Power Rangers Zeo has the distinction of being the first season of the show that wasn't Mighty Morphin'. It was the first time in the show that the theme and the setup and the show had to change, and boy they changed it in the positive most way. Ron Wasserman returned from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers to compose this theme, and it carries over pretty well. However, ZEO also joined the RAW and composed one kick ass tune. Check it out!

#2 - Power Rangers Turbo
The sequel series to Zeo and the last to feature Jason David Frank as a starring member of the cast until Dino Thunder. This season was hit-and-miss for a lot of fans, but what sticks out in my mind the most was the theme song. The opening riff is so reminiscent of the Mötley Crüe song "Kickstart My Heart" and then it just launches into this great recoil riff with great drum work. Definitely gets one pumped up for a half hour of ranger action! Great work by the band Super Power!

#1 - Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers

The show that started it all! In 1993, Saban entertainment adapted a children's Japanese show about people who were given the souls of five ancient fighting beasts and used them to aid those in need. There, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was born. To aid with the show's American debut, producers at Saban felt the show need a fantastic tune to kick off with that would get kids going and rile them up for action. They turned to Ron Wasserman to compose one of the most recognizable children's television theme songs of all time. The fret work on the opening riff is unparalleled with any other song I've heard.
