You know these people ehh? Don't know when to talk stop talking. Don't know when stuff's said and done. Don't know when quiet time is. Verbal Diarrhea can come in two different forms, as follows:
- The person in question speaks at a common vocal volume, but the word quantity is immense and convoluted. These souls were born with a disorder which blocks them from knowing when conversational topics have concluded. Symptoms include "Talking about the same shit over...and over...and over again and spilling their life story to the question of, say, 'what do you want for supper?" Often when out of things to discuss, person will often bring up things nobody cares about, ask stupid fucking questions that require a long response, and sometimes, even talk to themselves, causing outside parties to show interest and forcing another long, drawn-out and often repetitive conversation.
- The person in question speaks at a greatly increased vocal volume, but with a small word count. Things such as yelling random, garbled noises; screaming when something good or bad is about to happen in a hysterical manner. Talks directly in your face at a common volume, but noise is amplified at close range.
Sometimes you get cornered by one of these little butt-sniffs and it's game over. What is the situation? Well you've somewhere to be, you're probably even considering home as an important place to be, and you've got a motor-mouth staring you right in the face. Options? Well you can walk away, but what if they follow? You can't be the guy that says "Go away!" That would be rude! You have to show some fucking common courtesy, the ideal that fucks you over whenever you just wanna be alone.
Another option is to consider talking your way out the situation. Now, I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but I used to be the master of talking myself out of situations I didn't wanna be in. That, or the people I was talking myself out of showed little interest in retaining me in the event at hand. Either way, I was given the false pretense that I am a good talker-out-of-things. However, sometimes you get the verbal diarrhea sufferers that don't understand what no means. They just continue following you to wherever you're going, just "seeing you to your destination". Of course you're a lot safer if it's just a phone call, but phone calls they seem to want to talk even more.
With it being socially unacceptable to just flat out to sell someone to just "go the fuck away", you learn to start developing different defensive tactics against those suffering from verbal diarrhea. Verbal Diarrhea is alive and well people. Get yourself checked! Get your roommates, friends, family and special lover checked! Don't let it spread!
