Top 10 Favorite bands - #'s 10 and 9

Hey hey hey! Wow, so I decided to take a full month off; clear my head, get a job, land some homework and boogity boom! I'm back writing in my blog. So, what is the month of July going to be about? Music. Hardcore music that smashes you to pieces with its vibes and beats. I am a big fan of rock and roll; rock and roll of any shape and size! You name it, straight-up rock, grunge, glam metal, thrash metal, psychedelic rock. Rock and roll is a type of music that fits with any occasion! Wanna be loud? Play some incredible music off of your iPod. But, what about the kinds of bands that I like. Well, I always like to say that I love a multitude of bands, which I do! So, I'm going to bring you another top 10, courtesy of C-Bass's Corner.

#10 - Judas Priest

Judas Priest, boy there's one for the books. Judas Priest began their days with Ian Hill, K.K. Drowning, Al Atkins and John Ellis in the lineup. Their first album was Rocka Rolla back in 1974. Back then, the band didn't have the same "feel" they did in the following decade. It was very much straight-up rock. They were loud, they were great, but in my opinion, they lacked that one special attribute that many bands had in that era: They weren't memorable quite yet. In my opinion, Killing Machine was the first album where Priest began producing memorable tunes. "The Green Manalishi" was a great song! However, the band got big and famous with their hit single "Breakin' the Law" from 1980's British Steel. The 80's were a powerful decade for the group. However, as the 80's wore on and the music was getting better, the band constantly swapped members and it got to the point where no one member who played on one album would play on the following album. Still, I recommend Priest for any hardcore rock or metal lover. Priest is always sure to please, especially for a long car ride.

Some more memorable albums include 1982's Screaming for Vengeance, 1984's Defenders of the Faith, 1986's Turbo, and 1990's Painkiller.

#9 - W.A.S.P.

W.A.S.P. was a band that pretty-much said "fuck you" to traditional concert formats and brought out their own way of partying. Fans of W.A.S.P. who attend concerts should expect explosive pyro, loud guitars, and the main attraction: getting pelted with blood-soaked raw meat, which has become a W.A.S.P. trademark. The band was founded by Blackie Lawless, who sought out Randy Piper, Rik Fox, and Tony Richards to create his vision of the world's most "out-of-control" rock band. 1984's W.A.S.P. was a smash-hit and peaked at #74 on the Billboard 200. It included hit songs like "I Wanna Be Somebody", "L.O.V.E. Machine" and "School Daze". Blackie's scratchy vocals along with the raw rock and roll created a powerful vibe that continued throughout the 80's. The band still performs today, but not as big and grand as they once had. They still have Blackie at the helm, and who knows, maybe they'll do a great album and get back in the spotlight before the end...
